As one of the premier
Orlando Search Engine Optimization (SEO) specialist firms, IBR can get the results for your online presence that not only measure in
higher traffic and better conversion rates but also bottom line profits. Much has been said about SEO both online and in Orlando small business circles and these opinions tend to leave many confused and desiring better explanations. There are virtually thousands of specialists and
SEO firms that have just as many answers and advice. In order to make sense of all that information IBR has a strikingly simple yet amazingly accurate method of analysis anybody may use as a primary decision-making tool.
- Create data collecting points (have a web statistic package installed AND monitor it weekly, also when you get a lead or purchase make sure to ask how they found you)
- Know exactly how much money you are spending on your SEO/marketing efforts
- Create a monthly report of how much money it cost to generate 1 lead/sale byusing this formula:
There are Several factors to note in this formula. If your web site generated 10 leads/sales per month before starting an SEO campaign and after the first month you generated 16 leads/sales on $500 SEO investment, your cost of lead/sale would be $500 / 6 = $83.3 rather than $500 / 16 = $31.25 since you already had those 10 leads/sales the previous month.
Now that you know how to evaluate the effectiveness of your SEO campaign let’s take a look at a few factors that contribute to how well your site will rank for particular keywords.
There is a general consensus that the content and the number of quality links pointing to your web site are the two most important factors. First, as in the case when people search for “dog grooming tips” they expect that the results returned by the search engine will have information they are looking for. Second, if you have a web site that disseminates “dog grooming tips” effectively and credibly, people will tell others about it (online word of mouth) by referencing to your site via link.
There is a multitude of factors used by the search engine ranking algorithm, I will list only the ones that based on my experience and what I have heard from others working in this field work the best. Again this is by no means definitive as search engines evolve frequently.
KEYWORDS
1) Keywords contained in the title of the page - 9.5 weight

2) How keywords relate to the topic of the content (the theme of your web page is evaluated semantically or for the meaning) – 8.7 weight * as algorithms become more sophisticated this factor will be even more important

3) Accenting keywords by utilizing H1-6, strong, em tags – 8.5 weight

4) Appearance of keywords throughout the text especially at the top of the pages – 8.0 weight * this factor is easily abused by many by putting too many keywords in the page, so be careful with it

5) Keywords in the domain name and file names – 6.0 * if your domain coincides with the searched keywords you are more likely to rank higher as when you search your domain name, i.e. ibrsystems.com
LINKS
1) Anchor text of an inbound link - 9.8 weight * it tells a ranking algorithm in a few words what your site is about, also the topic of the site that is linking to yours is taken into consideration, as well as “authority” of that domain as related to topic

2) Link popularity of the link site – 9.0 weight * if linking site has a lot of links pointing to IT then it is a better quality link (A,B,C,D,E… => Link site => your site)

3) Number of links from a related community – 9.0 weight * if a lot of other sites that provide information about “dog grooming tips” link to your site which also provides same information then this is favorable

4) Text that immediately surrounds the link on linking site – 8.7 weight

5) Age of link – 7.5 weight * if you get linked on a highly ranked site for only one month you will go up but after the link is gone your rankings will decrease as well
NEGATIVE FACTORS
1) Pages that are copied/pasted from other sites already ranked by search engines - 9.0 weight

2) External link to spam sites/link farms also inbound links from the same – 9.0 weight

3) Same meta tags on all pages – 8.8 weight

4) Overuse of keywords on the page - 7.0 weight

5) Inaccessible server (down, extremely slow) when spiders visit - 6.0 weight
